YOG 5010 – Yoga Certification Courses (3 credits):

A Certificate Course as taught by the Bihar School of Yoga Monghyr, India.
“Yoga Nidra is the science of relaxation which enables each of us to dive deep down into the realms of the subconscious mind, thereby releasing and relaxing mental tensions, and establishing harmony in all facets of our being.” – Swami Satyananda Saraswati.

This is a 15-week training course based on the teachings of Sri Swami Satyananda Saraswati, direct disciple of Sri Swami Sivananda of the Divine Life Society in Rishikesh, India.

This training course will include education and training in:

Theory and Practice of Yoga Nidra as a systematic method of inducing complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation through Pratyahara and Nyasa. Links to Digital Resource texts will be provided.
Basic, low-impact Yoga Asana sequence (chair yoga sequence available upon request).

 Pranayama (simple alternate nostril breathing with and without retention)

 5 Practices of Yoga Nidra techniques with scheduled individual return demonstration.
